Friday thoughts

What a fast-moving week!

A few things in our idea pipeline:

Broccoli cheddar soup
Beef and Barley soup
Vegan veggie soup
Turkey sausage and white bean soup

We will be totally ready to go for lunch with fresh cut vegetables and hummus to dip, fruit, spinach salads, and plenty of sandwiches.

One real growth area recently has been breakfast items. So, tomorrow we are going to be making grab-and-go breakfast sandwiches. Our usual combinations have been scrambled eggs, cheese, and either bacon or ham on croissants, whole wheat english muffins, or bagels. Greek yogurt parfaits with fresh raspberries and homemade granola keep breakfast on the lighter side.

Three cheers for staying optimistic about a smooth Friday morning commute through Blawnox! See you in the am and the pm too!

It’s Saturday and we are snowed in!

We are having a snow day today! Unless something drastic happens with our local Blawnox roads, we will resume our normal business schedule Monday morning at 6am. Plain and simple, it is just not safe to be out and about right now- old 28 is still untreated and Freeport Rd is churned up and slippery. Enjoy a relaxing day at home and stay toasty. In typical Pittsburgh fashion, we are looking at having a 40+ degree day for both Monday and Tuesday.

Thank you for understanding and we will see you next week!

Happy new year!

Let us here at Curbside get you nutritionally back on track after the holidays! We are constantly preparing very wholesome, fresh food with limited added fats or oils. We utilize plenty of fresh veggies and fruit, organic products, gluten-free, and nutritionally-rich ingredients in all of our food.

If you haven’t stopped in yet, please do! We will welcome you with a friendly smile and are always happy to answer any questions.

So, that said, happy 2012! We are all in it together so let’s make this the best year yet.

Tomorrow’s soups will be Pasta e Fagiole and Hoppin’ John soup for great luck throughout the next year. Greek tuna salad, buffalo chicken salad, cranberry almond chicken salad, ham salad, and basil pesto chicken salad will all be available tomorrow. Our sandwich choices are as of yet to be determined…. Stay tuned or stop in!

Open on Christmas eve!!!

See you tomorrow between the hours of 8 am and 12:30 pm! We had such a merry Christmas eve-eve today, I hope that Christmas eve is just as merry. We will be closed on Christmas day and also Monday, December 26th.

Cheers! I hope that everyone has a great and family-filled, enjoyable holiday season.

Tomorrow

Three new soup options will be:

Split green pea and ham soup!
Chicken and veggie!
Stuffed pepper!

All of our soup offerings are 100% made from scratch- even the stock! Thanks for making it another sell-out day everyone.

Photo fun

I just downloaded a new app for phone. Can you tell what I added to this photo to make it excellent?

2 weeks until Christmas!

Wow, can you believe it? The entire year has simply flown by!

I just wanted to leave a quick report to acknowledge how wonderful December has been so far. Our soup campaign has been wildly successful- we have been offering at least three options on a daily basis and are making sure that there is something for everyone. Tomorrow, we are serving a dairy-free sage and pumpkin soup, black bean with tomato and brown rice, and an asian vegetable and chicken soup with a sesame and mushroom broth. Both coffee and food business has been unbelievable and catering has been the icing on the cake. We have been busy little bees at Curbside Coffeehouse.

I will leave you with a parting shot of a wrap that I served for breakfast on Friday morning! We get so many compliments about these old-school plates. This spicy three-meat wraps was served at about 7:15 am, truly proving that the taste-buds know no time of day as long as the food is awesome!

Thanks everyone!

Blawnox gems

We have some really great people here in Blawnox who run very cool businesses. One such business is our neighbor effe apparel that developed an officially licensed Terrible Towel skirt for all the ladies of Steeler nation. As a friend and fellow business owner, Elaine at Eclips hair studio is one of the beautiful brains behind the idea of the skirt. Since the holidays are right around the corner and she just did a great trim on my hair last Tuesday, I wanted to make sure all of our Curbside customers knew about another gem in Blawnox!

Check out effeapparel.com or head on down to 469 Freeport Rd. While you are there say hi to all of our great neighbors and customers that spend their days at Eclips hair studio!

Chilly morning

With forecasted temperatures in the mid 20s for tomorrow morning, it may be good to know that while you are getting your morning coffee, you can also pick up a ‘grab-and-go’ portion of some of our homemade soup for lunch!

Soup choices tomorrow will be oven roasted turkey and veggie or Cabarnet braised beef shank stew.

Thanksgiving, etc .

With turkey day fast approaching, I wanted to let all of our very cool customers know that we will be closed on Thanksgiving day! However, the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving, we will be open for our typical business day of 6am-6pm. And, for Black Friday, we will be open from 8 am until 1 pm. Please stop by and say hello if you are in the area!

In other words, we are filling up quickly for catered lunches in the days and werks to come, so if you are interested in Curbside catering, please call us as early as possible and we will be quite happy to get you on the calendar!

Thanks to everyone for continuing to keep us very busy, happy, and productive! We are looking forward to the busy holiday days to come.

Cheers!
